The selected device has no output controls

Hello everyone

I have MacBook pro 16" M1 Pro 16 GB - 2TB version 12.5.1 and I using Bose companion 5 speaker.

From 6 months now the companion is connected to the Mac using USB C adapter and working perfectly.

The last 2 weeks I can see the Bose USB Audio in output Audio preferences but cannot ear any sound and get this message : The selected device has no output controls

Any advice about this issue ?

Thank you and have a great day from Bali

Hello Mika2bali,

Thanks for choosing the Apple Support Communities. It may be a good idea to try connecting the speaker again in safe mode to see if it works. Here is how to do that.

Once finished in safe mode, also test again after regularly restarting. If that doesn't help, we suggest checking with your speaker manufacturer to ensure the hardware is compatible with your version of macOS. Here is their support channel.
