Not counting steps

While pushing a stroller my watch doesn’t count my steps. Is there a certain reason it does this?

If your watch arm isn't swinging when you walk then the watch won't detect that you're moving.

Apple Watch counts rocking in recliner as steps I wonder if it would be possible to set up a geofence to not count “steps” in my apartment. Most of those steps are not steps at all. Alternately, the Health app could count steps more accurately using my iPhone instead of my Watch, since the iPhone isn’t in my pocket while rocking, but is in my pocket when walking. How do I accurately count knitting steps on Apple Watch? Yes I've tried "recalibrating" the watch. No of course that doesn't work. So probably tens of thousands of people who knit are finding that their Apple watch will not count their steps accurately – ever. It appears the only way for the watch to count your steps is to REMOVE the watch while you're knitting. This is insane! Is there really no fix? Does Apple not care? Would they do this if it was basketball players or drummers? I wish I'd bought a Fitbit. [Re-Titled by Moderator]
