iMessage effects not working.

I've had this issue for awhile now but the effects trigger words like "Happy Birthday", "Happy New Year" etc do not set off the imessage effect. If I want to do it I have to manually do it so it's not automatic like it once was. I have the iPhone 12 Pro Max and the OS is up to date. Reduce motion is turned off, auto play effects is on, I've signed in and out of iMessage and have even reset the settings to factory with no luck. Is there something else that needs to be turned on or off?

Hey there, Tm0624,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities to get help with iMessage effects. If they're not working as expected, we suggest taking the following steps to troubleshoot. The steps below will help us isolate the issue a bit further, and work us toward resolving it:

  1. Close Messages: Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support
  2. Restart your iPhone: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
  3. Check your Reduce Motion settings: Reduce screen motion on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If the issue continues after that, don't hesitate to respond back!

Cheers.
