Flexgate on 15" Macbook Pro 2017

Hello,

My 2017 macbook pro screen stopped working when I open it >40°. When I went to an Apple Store in Geneva they told me it's a Flexgate issue, "we have a program for the 13" but not the 15", sorry".

They asked me 1000 EUR to replace the screen, for an engineering issue on a machine that I paid +4000 EUR. Is it me or Apple is playing extremely cheap on that case? I'm an Apple user since 20 years and this is very frustrating... They recognized the issue on the 13" and not the 15"? So customers are considered as lemmings now?

Did anyone manage to find a solution for that or it's time to escalate to consumers' federation?

Cheers everyone

Apple set up a service program for affected Macs. If you missed the deadline, or your Mac didn't qualify, you have no recourse but to pay for the repair yourself.

You can file any type of consumer complaint you wish, but Apple has handled the situation with the program and your chances of "winning" anything is slim to none.
