I’ve restarted my phone, checked that Face ID is enabled. It keeps erroring out when I try to open apps, unlock phone, etc.
no cameras are blocked. I have gotten it to work a few times by just restarting my phone, but that doesn’t work today. So I thought i would try resetting my Face ID but now it won’t even record my face. I get as far as centering my face in the boundaries, but there’s no prompt to start the recording (circling my head).

I am guessing that the flood sensor or proximity sensor is faulty, so a hardware issue.

Has your display been changed or replaced? Could be a hardware related problem, but I recommend patching your device to the latest iOS 15.6.1.
Thank you. No hardware changes. This is a brand new device I got in June 2022. I’m updated already to 15.6.1 and the problem started with the update it seems. Could be unrelated, but that’s the timing
same thing with my 13 pro cant get it to work, worked yesterday but phone updated when i was asleep need help
I just think it’s odd that it started giving me trouble with the software update. But if there are no other remedies I can try I will make an appointment.
