Others don’t receive my texts until hours later

A couple of family members complain they don’t get my texts until hours later. The only difference is they are on a different carrier. We all have iPhones.

I think you answered your question. Find a third party with a different carrier to send texts and work out if it is your carrier or your family members' carrier at fault.
