MacBook Pro turning off when it still has charge

My MacBook Pro has started dying when the battery is around 30-50% or so. This has been happening for a few months and I thought it had stopped but it started up again. After it dies, I put it on charge and it will turn back on with the same percentage as it died on (around 30-50%). Do I need a new battery?

MacBook Pro turns off when using battery power, even when battery is fully charged! My MacBook Pro turns off when using battery power, even when the battery is fully charged! If I try to use it on battery power for even a minute or two, it completely shuts down even though the battery icon is full, and it is still full when I turn the laptop back on (on AC power, because otherwise it won't start). It's completely fine when using AC power, which is 99% of the time. Is this some weird feature of the battery health management settings, or is it something that needs to be repaired?

Macbook Pro turns off after entering password I have a Macbook Pro 2017, and no matter what percentage charge it has, it turns off after I enter my password and log in. When I try to turn it back on, it says it needs to be charged, so I have to plug the charger into it. It runs fine after that. The battery status is 'Normal'. Should I be concerned? Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Hi,

If your MacBook Pro has Intel processor, resetting SMC could solve the power related issues.
