This seem like an astonishingly intentional non-customer centric decision. Off course only Apple forces you to use the physical remote when they could easily add it to the remote app like *Google and ROKU and Amazon. As soon as I send this, I’m going to leave feedback but it’s pretty obvious they’re not weighing the feedback.

It seems you are not aware of all the features of the software remote on iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch. Siri is supported in the software remote. On iPhone, press-and-hold the side button to have it listen in the same way as using the Siri button on the physical remote.
