Thunderbolt Display with MacBook Pro (14-inch, 2021)

Hi there,

I am attempting to get my Thunderbolt Display to with with my MacBook Pro (14-inch, 2021). I have the thunderbolt 2 to thunderbolt 3 adaptor plugged in, but the display is not recognised by the machine. Any advice? Has anyone been able to get this combination to work? It would be very sad to give up on my thunderbolt display - it is still great.

Are you sure the display is Thunderbolt? Lightning bolt icon on plug. Cable splits to two plugs: Thunderbolt, MagSafe power.

Apple made a similar LED display that used Mini DisplayPort. Cable split to three plugs: Mini DisplayPort, USB, MagSafe power.

A mini DisplayPort plug will work in a computer's Thunderbolt 2 port but will not work with a Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter, even though the plug will fit.
