MacBook pro’19: Box around a tiny cursor that can’t move outside the little box

I was trying to type an upside down ?; suddenly a 2x3” box with a tiny cursor is on the screen. I cannot move outside of the box, but I can move it around. It reflects n enlarged version of whatever it’s over. I’ll have to fix it with the computer keys or voice, I guess.

Shut down 3 times, the problem is there. Tried to move it to trash; no can do.somebody help me, PLEASE!

Wow, I now see I can photograph the screen to show you the problem.

PLUS, I CAN actually move things around using the arrow in the box, so I tried moving it to trash again, and suddenly another Desktop appeared with the word “Trash” at the top! Magic!

I cannot move the little cursor from its position within the box.

So now what?
