Constant repetition of "Approve iPad - This iPad wants to use your iCloud account" notification

I keep getting this notification, sometimes multiple times, at the top right of my screen. This happens at least 20-30 times per day. As soon as I "approve" the iPad, the alert message appears again.

I have ensured both my MacBook Air (M2) and iPad 5th Gen are up to date, signed in and out with my Apple ID, and turned off both devices several times in varying orders.

This is incredibly frustrating; please can you advise how to stop this.

MacBook Air, macOS 12.5

Hi yrpm,

For help with this alert check your iCloud Keychain settings on your iPad. The steps below found in the article here will get you started: Set up iCloud Keychain

"Turn on iCloud Keychain on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. Tap Settings, tap [your name], then choose iCloud.
  2. Tap Keychain.*
  3. Turn on iCloud Keychain. You might be asked for your passcode or Apple ID password.
  4. "

The section "Turn on iCloud Keychain on your Mac" in the same article can help you check your Mac settings as well.
