MacOS mail app takes a long time to launch

I have been having issues with the native Mail app for quite some time now, with no idea on how else to resolve it. When I try to open the Mail app, it takes a good 20 seconds to open the window.

So far I've tried:

-removing all email accounts but a freshly-created one

-reinstalling MacOS on top of itself

-running CleanMyMacX maintenance scripts multiple times

Nothing above seems to work. There is always the beachball mouse icon, and the app opens after about 20s. This is on an M1 MacBook Air, too.

Thank you

Step one—uninstall "CleanMyMacX"

This software is known to cause many issue like yours, on the macOS— it is not advised. Sorry if you gave them money, they have a very aggressive and successful marketing campaign yes...

Look for some in app official uninstaller—

if in doubt search the developers website or contact their: Support/Help/FAQ/Known issues/compatibility/Updates

I'm sorry. This seems a little unrelated to the problem at hand and I doubt it improves Mail app opening times. Thank you for your opinion, though. :)

To trouble shoot further you can:

—Test issue in another user (or guest user) account Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac - Apple Support

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.

—SafeBoot How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Takes a bit longer to get to the login screen, does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, font cache, etc., third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled.

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.

a reboot will put it back to normal mode.

This test will tell you if third party interference; extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.
