I deleted an Air Tag from my iPhone and now I can not reconnect it

I deleted an Air Tag from my iPhone and now I can not reconnect it and it doesn't seem to want to reset

Any help appreciated

It sounds like the battery isn't connected any more. You should try to replace it - How to replace the battery in your AirTag - Apple Support

Thank you Bubba for leading me to a solution. I clicked on "How to replace the Battery.... link and there was a note

that batteries with a bitter coating may not work on the Air Tag. I was trying to use Duracell DL/CR2032 battery and got nothing. I switched to an Energizer 2032 battery and I got the noise right away and after reassembly my phone was picking up the Air Tag to Connect.
