iPhone8, iOS 15.6 Assistive Touch keeps turning itself on no matter what I do. How do I fix this?!?

I have an iPhone8 with iOS15.6. The Assistive Touch suddenly started turning itself on and will not go away. I have restarted the phone. It comes back. I have done a hard reset. It comes back. I have gone into Accessibility and made sure nothing is on. I have reset the settings. Still Assistive Touch comes on by itself and will not go away. What is wrong and how do I get this to stop? I don't want the annoying black and white dot on my screen.

If the repair was not done by Apple or an authorized service provider, it’s hosed. Only Apple and authorized service providers have access to the tools necessary to properly pair the touchid sensor with the Secure Enclave in the phone. You could make an appointment at the Genius Bar of your local Apple Store and ask if they will do the repair properly, but don’t be surprised if they turn you away because the phone was tampered with.
