FaceTime audio sounds like a robot on incoming calls

. I’ve recently bought an iPad 9th generation (3 weeks old) and when someone FaceTimes me they sound like a robot. when I return the FaceTime call there are no issues with the sound quality. Any advice on how to resolve this? I have tried resetting, updating software no fix. The problem only exist on incoming FaceTime video calls. When I return the call the audio works fine.
