Software Update won't authenticate

Brand new Mac Studio — Trying to update the machine to Monterey 12.5. I click RESTART NOW and it asks me to authenticate — I put in my password and it refuses to take what I know is a valid password. I went so far as to change my password in USERS & GROUPS and still nothing. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

What is it you are trying to do...?


Can you boot the machine?

Can you login?
