Whilst most (mail) apps (Outlook for Mac, Postbox, Thunderbird etc.) on my system (iMac 27", Monterey updated as to August, 8, 2022) use dark mode, Apple Mail stubbornly refuses to do so. I did choose Dark Mode under Preferences but actually, under the Mail menu option "Viewing" there's no such option as "Use dark backgrounds for messages" (see screenshot). How come?
Thanks. This I know, I am in dark mode, but the option that should be there in Mail under Viewing (Use dark backgrounds for messages) is simply not there and Mail is still the only app in light mode. I think I give up on this and use another mail client.
There has been sufficient advise offered, from more than one Contributor, for the User to make an informed and educated choice what the next course of action is required for this computer.
The suggestions have been put forth on a volunteer basis, in good faith and in the best interests of the computer.
"Use dark backgrounds for messages" only displays when you're in Dark Mode.
