what if i can not use a usb to connect my phone to my MacBook air to transfer photos?

You could use AirDrop to send the Photos to your Mac, or set up iCloud Photos, to sync them across your devices.

But remember, that iCloud Photos reflecting all changes to all connected devices. For example, if you delete a photo on your Mac,

this photo will be erased from your iPhone and iCloud Photos.
