Why is my macbook wallpaper so blurry/ low quality

i’ve tried a bunch of different pictures and they all are blurry and look worse then the last

Thanks for your post to Apple Support Communities. We understand you have some questions about setting a desktop wallpaper on your MacBook Air.


You mentioned trying a few different photos, which seemed to all have an issue. We'd first recommend making sure they are of a size to fit your desktop and not require the system to zoom in in order to stretch the photo to fit.


When you set a system standard provided wallpaper photo, do you notice the same blurriness?

If your photos aren’t shown, they might not be in the expected file format—JPEG, PICT, TIFF, PNG, or HEIC. Use Preview to open your photos and save them in one of the formats. If your photos are shown but look fuzzy, try using larger ones, such as 1024 x 768 pixels.
