SMS group chat messages sent to wrong group

I have several SMS group chats with various groups of people. When I send a message to group 1 with people A, B, C, D, and E in it, the messages appear normal for me. I have heard from the other people in the both groups however that they see the messages as if they were sent in group 2 with people A, B, C, and D but not E. The affected messages still appear to me as sent in group 1.

I can still send messages in group 2 and those are sent and received as expected.

Issue appears on an iPhone 7 on IOS 14.4.2.

What sort of group is that? iMessage or SMS?

Types of group messages

The three types of group messages that you might see are: group iMessage, group MMS, and group SMS. The Messages app automatically chooses the type of group message to send based on you and your recipients' settings, network connection, and carrier plan. For example:

If you and your recipients are using Apple devices and iMessage is turned on, then the group message is sent as an iMessage.
If you send a group message to people who aren't using iMessage, then the message is sent as an MMS or SMS message.
