Shift/I combination on Mac keyboard not showing or working

I notice that on my Mac keyboard, when i hit the letter I with shift, the letter I doesn't even show up. Those i's you see there were typed in lower case and autocorrected. The capital I doesn't even show on the screen. All other letters/symbols are acting normally.
