MacBook Pro 13" 2017 Screen connection issue

Hi,

I have a problem with the screen of my MBP 13" 2017 A1708 model.

If the screen is half open I can see perfectly but if I open it completely it goes completely blank.

I know that there is no issue with the screen and most likely due to the screen connector as it was perfectly working earlier and even now with half-open screen.

I got an appointment with apple technician at apple store, who admitted that they can't point out what exactly is the problem although I mentioned the faulty screen connection cable to be a possibility.

I was given a quote of 478$ flat fee to fix the display issue even if it is not an entire screen replacement. Was suggested to use it as a desktop with an external monitor if I feel the repair cost is quite high.

My laptop purchase happens to fall in the period of their screen replacement program but they say its ineligible as they offer that service only to 2016 macs.

Any suggestions or help to get this issue resolved is appreciated.

Thank you

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.5

For the record...

Based on Personal Experience:

This needs to be fixed. My 2017 MBP had this issue, and its screen was replaced 11 times. So, this is known issue of that year's MBPs, and has been reported plenty of times on these forums.

Getting a New Screen? Or a New Connector?...

It can be either way. For my Mac, it was the connector that was (always) loose. And that is why caused all of this. So, getting a new screen, not a net connector, is the way to go about this. The screen would be connected to the LogicBoard via this connector.
