Missing Gmail Labels/folders in MacBook mail

I had to re-image my entire computer. Everything was saved to iCloud. When I started apple mail again, I got all my emails to come back, but the folders they were filed in are gone. I don't really want to sort and file 86,000 emails back in to folders. Why did the folders disappear and can they come back?

Thanks

Jeffery

Make sure that your apple mail setting is backed up iCloud can only restore them if they are picked to be backed up, I have a guess the Apple mail client is, so they are most likely there and hidden look folders and let me know

Troubleshooting eMail and New Installs:

Use a New App Password:

Do you use an App Password? If so, try a new App Password. Sometimes, changes (i.e. updates) are made to the device, and then mail server syncing becomes an issue (which is what a new App Password it intended to fix). For example, you'd go here for gmailSign in with App Passwords - Google Account Help - Google
