Where are my Apple Mail folders stored On My Mac?

There isn’t a “Mail” folder in my library, so I cannot locate the folders that are supposed to be on my Mac. Also, for some reason when I drag an email file into a folder all of the content disappears.

mail folders missing I recently noticed some, not all, of my mail folders are missing from the lift "On My Mac," on the left side of the Mail page. When I search for emails which are in the missing folders, I can find emails that are in the missing folders, but I can't find the folders containing those emails. How can I find the folders?

Mail Folders I am running the latest version of macos ventura. When i open email is there a way I can put this email in a specific folder without having to click on move and then select the folder I wish to place it in. An example would be I click on an email from Readers Digest, read it and rather then seeing move displayed I see the folder name Readers Digest. All help is appreciated....

Mail Data Location

/Users/your_username_here/Library/Mail/V10/MailData/

or another way to show it…

~/Library/Mail/V10/MailData
