Cycling distance with Apple Watch

I have a new Series 7.

I have issues with distance tracking with outdoor cycling.

I go cycling WITHOUT my phone. Clearly the GPS works as per the screenshot, but not the distance/speed calculation.

It works great if I go walking.

To fix the problem I have to go cycling WITH my phone, but that defeats the purpose.

How can I get my stand alone watch to show distance and speed??

Hello arkonrubik,

Are both your iPhone and Apple Watch all up to date?

Thanks.

I checked and both my iPhone and Appel Watch are running the latest version of their OS.

I did the calibration thing, twice, and nothing changes.

The watch just won't record distance/speed while cycling if I don't have my phone with me.

Works fine for walking without the phone

Works fine for cycling with the phone.

But cycling without the phone just doesn't work (it records GPS but won't show distance/speed... which makes no sense to me).

Any other ideas :S
