How can the hyperlink color in Apple News be changed from dark blue when in dark mode?

Human vision is LEAST sensitive to blue (not to be confused with blue light triggering unconscious neural responses for alertness). So why are hyperlinks in News set to dark blue when dark mode is on? This results in the general text of an article to appear white in a black background, but she the hyperlinks are dark blue, they appear almost invisible from the background, particularly when. The brightness is turned down.

I have been unable to find a fix for this disastrous choice, which is atypical for Apple. Unless one considers Apple stealing interface elements from Windows such as “flattening” the overall appearance of iOS and MacOS.

iPad Air, iOS 12

You are not alone in recognising that the [increasingly fashionable] dark mode can introduce issues with recognition of text and links - especially dark colours that exhibit poor contrast against the background. Indeed, maintaining appropriate contrast between text and background is a consideration for any colour palette/theme and User Interface design.

The are no configuration options that allow you to choose the colour of links. However, you may be able to improve colour differentiation for your own needs by experimenting with the iPad Accessibility settings:

Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size >
