emails and with folders disappeared

Using Mac Safari with gmail emails. I was dragging old emails into a new folder under "on my Mac" and suddenly all folders and emails disappeared !! Email header is Important "Read Only"

How do I restore? I'm not real savvy with this stuff. Please help if possible!!

Mailboxes "on my mac" have disappeared Hi there For some reason when I started my iMac this morning, all my "on my mac" email folders have disappeared, thousands of emails in a fairly complicated filing tree Looking at the accounts/preferences , my work and gmail accounts disappeared too, so I have re-introduced them. Gmail came back fine, but no work mail, even after an OS update I can see the emails in one of the folders (called CE5675B3-8B1F-4769-BEBA-93E7EE6B48AF) in my Home > Library > Mail > V8 files There looks to be a newer folder in there, which doesn't contain the missing ones, is it possible that Mail isn't looking at the correct folder and can I force it to, or reboot/copy it across it somehow ? Any help gratefully received iMac 2014 Mac OS Big Sur V11.7.9

We understand that while moving your email via Safari in Gmail, you're unable to access all your folders for your Mail.

Since Gmail isn't an Apple developed app, we'd suggest that you contact Gmail support directly here: Gmail Help

They'd be best suited to assist you.
