Mailboxes "on my mac" have disappeared

Hi there

For some reason when I started my iMac this morning, all my "on my mac" email folders have disappeared, thousands of emails in a fairly complicated filing tree

Looking at the accounts/preferences , my work and gmail accounts disappeared too, so I have re-introduced them. Gmail came back fine, but no work mail, even after an OS update

I can see the emails in one of the folders (called CE5675B3-8B1F-4769-BEBA-93E7EE6B48AF) in my Home > Library > Mail > V8 files

There looks to be a newer folder in there, which doesn't contain the missing ones, is it possible that Mail isn't looking at the correct folder and can I force it to, or reboot/copy it across it somehow ?

Any help gratefully received

Greetings Munchbunch66,

Based on the information you've provided up to this point, it sounds like your work email may have been removed from the Mac Mail app. You can verify which accounts you currently have set up on your iMac by doing the following:

    1. Open the Mail app on your Mac.
    2. Choose Mail > Accounts.
    3. From here verify if your work account is showing.

If not, follow the steps on this page to add you work email account: Add or remove email accounts in Mail on Mac - Apple Support. Once the account has been added, there should be no further issues.

We hope this information helps you out.

Cheers!
