Apple TV app on Samsung Smart TV has no "Resume" option

Show already plays from beginning with no option to pick up playback from paused point. Use Play History is turned on. The same thing happens on Apple TV app on Macbook. Have reinstalled the AppleTV app on Samsung TV and Auto-Update apps setting is on so the app should be up to date. Have logged out and back in...

How is such a simple, necessary setting like 'Resume' so complicated to figure out??
