Can iphone remotely instruct ATV to play lossless Apple Music

I'm considering purchasing ATV 4K if it can play lossless (up to 24 bit-48K, so avoiding Air Play) Apple Music on our home stereo, controlled by my iPhone, without having to look at a TV screen. I don't want a solution involving the music being sent to my iPhone, then being sent back to the ATV via Air Play. I want the iPhone to direct the music to go straight from the Apple Music server to the ATV to be played on the stereo. Is this even possible? Or do I need to hope that Air Play 4 can do this?

You may use your iPhone as a software remote, but otherwise your iPhone is not relevant for this. Apple TV 4K uses the Music app on the device itself. You would want TV screen access for making selections. You can’t see the Apple TV interface on your iPhone.

Alternatively, you may consider a Mac Mini (or other Mac) connected to your audio system. You can control that from your iPhone, using the iTunes Remote app.
