Regardless of whether I am listening to an audio book, YouTube or anything else that has audio, the sound simply stops after several seconds. When manually re-started, it stops again and again. This is with wifi and/or data. This just started recently with the phone. Suggestions please?

Does this issue happen when using the built in speakers on your iPhone? Or is it occurring when using headphones or external speakers?
Does this only occur with content streamed from the internet, or is it happening with downloaded content as well?
