Conflict between Universal display and screen mirroring:

Sometimes when I start my MacBook Pro and my Mac Studio they enter in Universal display modus with no problem. However, if that does not happen by itself then I cannot make it happen. IF I go to screen sharing it gives me the option to extend my display or mirror it. There is no button to indicate in the Display preferences to force the Universal display setting.

Any solution?

Thanks,

AG

Hey there areUkidingMe,

It sounds like it's working the way you want it to sometimes but you're unable to manually change settings. Let's make sure the steps you're using to manage display preferences match our guide: Change Displays preferences on Mac - Apple Support

If you are unable to change preferences, reach out to Apple Support to check your hardware: Contact - Official Apple Support

Take care.
