My iphone 6 is up to date. When i try to download the alexa app it says to update my iphone 6. It will not update no more as it is up to date

Actually, a 6 is restricted to 12.5.5. A 6S can run iOS 15.5 (but won’t be able to run iOS 16).But that’s probably what you meant.
Amazon in their wisdom has decided that they don’t want to support 8 year old iPhones. There is nothing you can do other than get a newer phone.
