alexa voice on amazon app will not work on my iphone 15 promax

Alexa voice on amazon app will not work on my new iphone 15 promax, which used to work on my iPhone 12 promax. We also tried it on iPhone XR and it didn’t work. We tried it on iPhone 14 and it worked. I use it to thank my driver but noticed that it just went straight to search when I asked Alexa to thank my driver. Even when I say Alexa play music, she does not say anything but it typed it on the search and shows items related to music.

Yes I made sure I was updated. I guess it’s just me then🙂 thanks for your help. For now, I downloaded the Alexa app and it worked from there. Just on my Amazon app, Alexa seems to not work. Hopefully I’ll get this figured out soon🙂

Try to delete the Amazon app, force restart the iPhone and re download the Amazon app

Did you check in the Alexa app, Settings>Alexa app Settings>enable Alexa Hands free?

I never had the Alexa app. I always used Alexa on the Amazon app. The microphone on the top. Not sure if something changed or it’s not compatible with the new phone anymore?

In Amazon app did you enable the microphone in Privacy&Security>Microphone>toggle on Amazon

This worked for me!! Thanks! (Deleted the app and data, restarted my phone, and then reinstalled the app. It will go thru the process of asking permission to use location/microphone/etc.)

I am able to search for products using voice recognition in the Amazon app. However, you can't do things like play music. For that, you need the Alexa app.

I use it to thank my driver but noticed that it just went straight to search when I asked Alexa to thank my driver.

I have no idea what sort of driver you're getting from Amazon.

Yes when you say Alexa thank my driver, it will reply something like “I’m glad you liked your recent service, we will relay the message to your driver”. Now Alexa doesn’t say anything, and just puts in the search whatever I say.

It could be that in the next update for Amazon app, or if you reset the iPhone for other reasons, the app's getting sorted. Resetting your iPhone as a new iPhone usually solve these problems but for many it's demanding so I'm not suggesting it for one app. You can also contact Amazon to see if they are aware of this problem for iPhones 15 pro max users and IOS 17.1.1
