does XProtect need full access?

In SystemPreferences, Security and Privacy, Full Disk Access: should XProtect be enabled?

This is new, I suspect with the 12.4 point update. It is disabled by default.


therefore I would not change it,, so far there is no documentation from Apple on this addition.


I would not worry about it if security is your concern. It may well be a precursor to upcoming macOS.

I have made no changes to my macOS 12.4 defaults here and see no impact.
