Create iTunes Connect account stuck in infinite loop
I’m trying to publish on Apple Books from Pages on my iPad mini 5 with iPadOS 15.5. This apparently requires me to create an iTunes Connect account, a process that starts with my appleID and password. I enter those. The page asks if I trust the browser (yes: Safari, latest update). Then it takes me back to the same create account page and form with the same input fields as before. No message. No explanation. I re-enter everything. The page blinks, doesn’t ask about the browser this time, and … I’m back where I started. Have I forgotten my AppleID password? Only way to find out is to change it. Done. Back to iTunes Connect… same infinite loop.
Only when I cut/paste the URL from that form to post here do I see it: https://itunesconnect.apple.com/WebObjects/iTunesConnect.woa/wa/digitalContractsSignup?ccTypeId=13&error=This+iTunes+Store+account+does+not+have+a+valid+credit+card+on+file.+Go+to+the+iTunes+Store+to+update+this+account+with+valid+credit+card+information+before+trying+again. Got that? OK, so I go to the iTunes store and… there’s nowhere to add a credit card.
Does anybody know how to add a credit card to iTunes store?
I’m actually guessing nobody does because this is a legacy message and payments for all apple digital products now go through Apple Pay in Settings. So I check my credit card info in Settings. My card is good (tried to add it again and Settings said it was already on file). But —Whoops!—my address is out of date, so I correct that, exit, re-enter to confirm the changes stuck. They did. Great, so now I go back to the Create iTunes Connect account page, and… same story.
NOW I’m out of ideas; please let me know if you have any.
