Can i download mp3 from my AppleOne account to an mp3 player?

Thinking of buying an MP3 player for swimming.

I have songs in my itunes that I've downloaded/purchased and i know I can download those to the player.

What about the songs that I don't "own" in my AppleOne account? Can I download music to the device?

Do downloads from the itunes store in 2022 only work within the app, or can you download an mp3 to put onto other devices? I know that obviously iTunes used to let you download mp3s, but I’d like to know if it currently does. I like listening to music on my phone through an mp3 player app, and I usually buy music from Bandcamp, but some artists don’t have one and I’m trying to figure out what a good place to buy songs besides that would be. (I have no interest in paying for a streaming service, since that doesn’t support the artist very much.) Apple’s page on the subject says that you can download songs for offline listening, but it isn’t clear whether or not that’s just within iTunes/Apple Music or if it’s an mp3 you can keep.

Apple Music without subscription I’ve imported many of my old CDs on my Mac in the Music app. They all appear in the music library alongside the previous purchases done in itunes. The Music app on my Mac is logged in with my Apple iCloud account. But I can’t see or find the Music app on my ICloud account. And therefore I can’t manage to sync Music on iCloud and to be able to play my music on my phone. My question is: can’t I do that without an Apple Music subscription?

Download Music Library Across All Devices on the Same Account Is it possible to match music libraries so that when a song is downloaded to an iPhone, that exact song is ALSO AUTOMATICALLY downloaded to an iPad on the same account? if not, is is possible to download all songs instead of doing them individually?

Hi,

You can’t download and transfer music obtained from your Apple Music subscription to an mp3 player as the music is copy protected. Purchase tracks from iTunes Store if you want to use them on mp3 player.

Thanks Jim - I understand why, but it’s a shame we can’t register a device to temp store files.
