Merge iCloud backups

I want to merge my iPhone backup with my iPhone 11 iCloud backup. They’re both controlled by the same Apple ID

iPhone 11, iOS 15

Hi violet125,

Thanks for the post! If we understand correctly, you want to merge the contents of your backups. Is that right? Your backups are separated by device and if you restore the backup from one iPhone to the other, it will replace the existing contents of the device being restored. While it's not possible to merge backup contents, you might have a few options depending on the type of data in question.

If the content you're referring to is synced in iCloud, like Photos or contacts, you can access it on both devices already: Set up iCloud on all your devices - Apple Support

"Set up iCloud on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > [your name].
  2. If you don’t see [your name], tap “Sign in to your [device],” then enter your Apple ID and password.
  3. Tap iCloud, then turn apps and features on or off."

You might also be able to use the Share function to send content between your devices, depending on what type of content and apps you're using.

We hope this helps you get started. Let us know if you have any questions. Best wishes.
