I was blocked, but message is now saying delivered.

I was recently blocked by a number. I know this because texts would only go through as green and calls right to voicemail. This was less than 24 hours ago. I sent another text this morning and it didn’t go through as green right away. Rather it just stayed as blue and never said delivered. I had the option to send it as a standard text message. I checked again now and that message now says delivered and is in blue. Could I have been unblocked and it went through? Or is this a glitch in iMessage?

It is my understanding that if you are blocked there is no way for you to tell that. But, you can easily test this yourself. Grab a friend with an iPhone and have them block you, then send a message.

Maybe worry more about why people might be blocking you than trying to figure out how to tell if you are?

Neither of the things you mentioned is indicative of you being blocked. What they mean is that the phone you were trying to contact didn't have a data connection and may even have been turned off. It sounds as if later, the phone was turned back on but still didn't have a data connection so you were offered the option to send a regular SMS. Now, the phone has a data connection again and all is as it was before.

You weren't blocked, There was no glitch.

I’m 99% sure I was blocked. 1) they told me and 2) it was multiple texts that were sent during the time of being “blocked”. They also have focus mode on so I was still seeing that notifications were silenced in iMessage. I’m not sure if that would still come up if there wasn’t any data connection. I read it still comes up if blocked.

If I was blocked the messages wouldn’t go through tho correct? It wouldn’t say delivered underneath it. It would sort of be just there. Right?

There are no indications given that you've been blocked. Apple set it up that way on purpose.

Regarding the notifications that messages were silenced, there is a subset of people having a problem with being unable to turn that off. In some cases, it's a lack of understanding of the relatively new and somewhat complex Focus feature. In other cases, its not clear what the problem is.

The fact that you were told you were blocked is the only evidence that you were blocked.
