How do I use my T-Mobile one year free Apple TV to watch Apple TV on my Samsung TV?

I have a free one year subscription to APPLE TV from T-mobile. I activated it and it works fine on my iMac. I tried to activate it on my Samung TV (it has the Apple TV app) and it keeps asking me to select the one week free subscription and the $4.99 / month. I want to watch Apple TV on my Samsung TV, not my iMac. Can't find a way to make it work.

Any suggestions?

Verify that you are signed in to the Apple TV app, through the in-app Settings (sprockets wheel icon), with the Apple ID account that has the subscription.
