iPhone ignores pause time during exercise on Apple Watch

When I swim with Apple Watch and pause during the exercise, Apple Watch correctly stops the timer. But when I finish swimming and press “Done”, the paused time is not taken into account on my iPhone.

For instance, If I swim for 30 minutes with 5 minutes pause in between, Apple Watch says I swam for 25 minutes, but my iPhone says 30 minutes. Does anyone know how to fix this?

The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.

If the problem persists, you should bring this to Apple's attention. Use the 'Get Support' link at the top-right corner of this page.
