Mac Mini M1 to HDMI 1.4 or Display Port 1.2?

I have an older ASUS Monitor (2K) that has both HDMI 1.4 and Display Port 1.2. I understand the Mac Mini M1 will work with either but which is better? If I use Display Port to USB C I'll need to buy an adapter. I understand I can connect HDMI with my existing cables.

HDMI will work just fine for a 1080 display at 60Hz. Although you may need a better HDMI cable than the one that came with the display.

A USB-C to DisplayPort cable will work better for higher resolutions with higher refresh rate displays and ultra wide displays.

That Warrky cable should work fine for the 2K ASUS monitor that you have.

If the Warrky cable doesn't work or you ever decide to get a higher resolutions DP Display, then a certified 1.4 8K cable would be the best choice. for example > https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09NVV76FH/ref=sspa_dk_detail_5?
