Mac mini with fluctuating broadband speeds. Sometimes dropping as low as 1Mbps, while other devices (iPhone, MacBook Air) are showing speeds up to 25Mbps

I run a Mac mini (Late 2014) with macOS Monterey 12.3.1 but I'm experiencing problems with fluctuating broadband speeds. Sometimes dropping as low as 1Mbps, while other devices (iPhone, MacBook Air) are showing speeds up to 25Mbps. The device is placed only 15-20cm from the router. What is causing such low speeds? Is there a solution?

Could be interference from high speed USB drives, devices and cables including a display cable.

Try temporally disconnecting and/or moving any high speed devices and cables to the opposite side, so that they are not in between the Mac Mini and router.
