I am trying to put a text block on a number of photos. I go into markup, place the text, select the text box and do a copy. But when I go to the next photo, and try and paste it is grayed out. How do I do this?

You will have to Add a New Text Block in the new photo and once done Paste the Copied Text into the new Text Block.

First picture - added a Text Box and added TEST in Red. Save it
Second picture - Copied ( Command + c ) the text box Contents from First Image into the Text Box in Second Image and ( Command + v> below are the results
This does not work, well it works as long as you stay on the same photo, but if you move a new photo, it does not.
With the text copied via command + c and focus to new text box open Ed command + v
I tried that and does not work. The paste is grayed out
