iTunes for Windows ALAC Conversion

Is it possible to convert music to ALAC that was downloaded through Apple Music on iTunes for Windows? If I try to click the 'Convert' button it says "(Song) cannot be converted because protected files cannot be converted to other formats." If I try to Import to ALAC from the settings, nothing happens.

Windows, Windows 10

No, content rented from the Apple Music subscription service cannot be transcoded to another format or used outside of iTunes. Note in general there is nothing to gain by converting AAC (a lossy format) to ALAC (lossless), you cannot recover the information discarded when making the smaller lossy version.
