Apple watch not functioning properly after connected to new I-Phone

I got a newer I-phone and it seems to be connecting to my Apple Watch. Sense that process my watch in not functioning as before. It no longer gives me my on going physical activity. It no longer let's me know my movement for the day. For example it doesn't tell me I need to get up and walk or breath.
