Monterey upgrade stuck on my MacBook pro

Is there anyway I can get out of the update?

it is stuck on the black screen with the Apple and progress bar. Thanks.

AFAIK - once the actual installation has begun - there is not way out.


One can Force a Shutdown via any means possible including the Power Button .


The disconnect all external Drives and connect to charger.


Suggest restarting in Safe Mode. This will perform a Disk Repair, clear cache files and only load Apple Software, extensions and fonts. The boot up will be slow and can take some time - Normal.


This may or may not allow the upGrade process to complete
