Overheating brand new iPhone 13 Pro Max

I bought an iPhone 13 pro max 10 days ago. It gets hot when it's getting charged and when I play games. Do I have to return it?

Well, maybe it's normal but my husband's phone, which is the same as mine and was purchased nearly 1 month ago doesn't get hot at all. Mine gets too hot that I cannot hold it in my hands but the shut-down alarm doesn't appear on the screen.

There are a variety of reasons:

  • Are you both using cases and the same cases?
  • Are you both using the exact same apps?
  • Do you have anything else that is using power as seen as using battery in the Battery settings?
  • When you say his phone doesn't heat, did you ask him or did you feel his phone after using the same charger for the same amount of time?
