How to fix MacOS Monterey Spotlight not indexing Google Drive files in desktop?

It seems that on Mac, the Spotlight is not indexing the files that are in the Google Drive desktop folder...

Re-indexing not working by adding the Drive to System Pref => Spotlight ==> Privacy and removing it as per the online instructions. How can this be turned back on? Spotlight Indexing Problem Cant Be Temporarily Solved Spotlight searches on my mac (Monterey 12.0.1) does not bring many files I am looking for. Even the ones I use everyday. Community forum recommends: "Drag the disk or folder that you want to index again to the list of locations that Spotlight is prevented from searching. Or click the add button (+) and select the disk or folder to add. From the same list of locations, select the disk or folder that you just added. Then click the remove button (–) to remove it from the list." This helps at first but in a short while same problem occurs. I have to do this everyday. Does anybody have a temporary solution to spotlight indexing problem? Thank you!

not all folders are indexed on MacOS Monterey I got a new MBP but not all folders are indexed. When I search for a filename e.g. that contains "xmas", it finds filenames with "xmas" in some folders, but not in all the folders on "This Mac" and not the current folder. I followed the instructions at How to rebuild the Spotlight index on your Mac - Apple Support , but it did not change anything. Does anyone have better instructions how I get MacOS Monterey to reindex the whole computer? It seems like Spotlight is failing to index the folders I use the most.
