I am changing from iPhone 7 to iPhone 11. On setting up do I put in the SIM card from my old phone into the iphone11 first or not.

Both of those iPhones use the same size SIM card (Nano). See ➡️ How to remove or switch SIM card on your iPhone.

You can switch the SIM card before the transfer or after. I, personally, prefer to switch the SIM card before (first) I begin the data transfer.

I cannot seem to get the SIM card of my iPhone 7 to go into the iPhone 11
